How can our furry friends benefit from coconut-based products?

In India, coconuts are referred to as Kalpa Vriksha (“the tree that supplies all that is needed to live”). Coconuts are not only an important source of nutrients, but they have a variety of other potential health benefits.

Products derived from the coconut palm have been used as natural remedies, worldwide, for thousands of years. We are proud to be able to provide those benefits to pets by adding refined fermented coconut oil from organically grown coconuts to our pet products.

Ingredient Spotlight
Coconut oil is a common ingredient in shampoos and conditioners due to its natural moisturizing effects. We infused coconut oil essence into our grooming gloves and wipes to assist in restoring luster to the coat, while gently cleaning and deodorizing the skin and fur.
HICC PET® Coconut Oil Fermentation Technology
Coconut oil is extracted from the flesh of organically grown coconuts.
The refined coconut oil is allowed to ferment for 7 days under controlled circumstances.
Fermented coconut oil has better bioavailability of nutrients for skin and fur.
Monounsaturated Fatty Acids (MUFAs) are found in coconut oil, some of which are known for their moisturizing and/or germ-deterring properties.

Refined fermented coconut oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), especially lauric acid, and has a number of potential benefits when used in skin care products:

Cleanse
Deodorizes
Moisturizes
Nourishes
Potential germ-deterring properties

Any Cautions with Coconut Oil?

Coconut oil is safe and gentle and is commonly used in a variety of shampoos and conditioners for its beneficial effects. But even then, there are some cautions:

● While coconut oil is less likely to cause allergies than some other vegetable oils, it doesn’t eliminate the possibility. If your pet is allergic to coconut oil, it is highly reccomended to avoid products containing it.

● Coconut oil is a great moisturizing agent, but pets with greasy fur and/or skin are more likely to benefit from ingredients more likely to dry out some of that oiliness.

● Coconut oil can moisturize the skin by the oil penetrating the pores, but should be used sparingly in areas of skin prone to blackheads and/or acne, as it is capable of clogging pores.
